Need help! How do I customize the templates? Please read…

    1st thing I am doing is activating the template after I select it. Then when I’m at the customization screen I am entering the texts I want, in the text boxes. I am also selecting the logo I want to include of the same customization screen, but when I hit update, then view site, the site looks plane and it looks like the template isn’t being used.

    I am using my iPad/ iOS, so I’m trying to do this through the WordPress app.

    I really want to start writing but I have to get my site up first… Please help out, any information would be greatly appreciated.
