Need help in Exporting WordPress.com content to WordPress.org

  Help in Exporting WordPress.com content. I plan to move on to WordPress.org.
  My WordPress.com to WordPress.org . I tried using the export tools to gather from ((email visible only to moderators and staff)) so that I can import to (joshuahideki.com)(org). However, when i do that, this message will show after about 5 minutes of waiting time.

  “Goshdarnit!
  Something has gone wrong with our servers. It’s probably Matt’s fault.
  We’ve just been notified of the problem.
  Hopefully this should be fixed ASAP, so kindly reload in a minute and things should be back to normal.”

  I’ve tried reloading multiple times and also tried restarting my computer, but nothing changes. Can anyone please assist me with this?

  PS My ((email visible only to moderators and staff)) was imported from my old blogger blog (www.ColorfulExistence.com) via an XML file, and everything came out perfect.
  However, on WordPress.org, that option is not available. Instead, org tells me to use a plugin importer to directly import from blogger.com. It dosent work very well and they are a couple of errors that showed.

  Can someone please help me on this? it would be best if i could export “joshuahideki.wordpress.com” to “joshuahideki.com(org)”?

  Hi Joshua,

  I believe the issue is due to the large file size on your blog. It’s causing the export to fail. I went ahead and exported your blog into a series of smaller XML files and sent them in a zip file to the email address on your account. Can you try importing those into your self-hosted site? Instructions on doing that here:

  Can you check the “Social” tab at that address?
