Need help logging into site with paid plan

    Steps:
    1. I wanted to login so went to our company website with ‘/wp-admin’ at the end
    2. I used the same stored login credentials that I have in LastPass and always use
    3. Oddly, I was told this was wrong and given an error
    4. I attempted the forgotten password process a few times, but never got the email
    5. I checked to see if WordPress is down but didn’t see major reported issues
    6. I logged into the IT department’s spam blocker to see if I could learn more and then contacted IT
    7. IT reports that ‘Looks like the emails are still being blocked on Anti-Spoofing even though they are set as permitted senders for your email. Altering the Anti-Spoofing policy to whitelist these WordPress emails is a company wide change. I’ll have to get this approved before proceeding.

You won’t be able to receive the email until we are able to get these changes approved and then implemented.

This is only happening because WordPress wants their emails to appear as (email visible only to moderators and staff) instead of sending from WordPress themselves.’

*Is there any way to access our organization’s website without asking the IT department to amend its policy on email?*

    Thanks!
    Wil

  • What is the URL of the site with the problem?

NOTE: We can only assist with websites hosted here at WordPress.com. If you’re using the WordPress software, but hosted elsewhere, you will need to reach out to your hosting provider or the WordPress.org community for guidance: https://wordpress.org/support/

  • Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with GoDaddy.

Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

https://wordpress.org/support/ is a great resource for sites using the open source WordPress.org software, and you can find support for that at: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

And, they do have some options for you at https://wordpress.org/support/article/resetting-your-password/

Your hosting provider’s support team may also be able to assist.

Thanks for this helpful info! Provided some insight I wasn’t sure about–ultimately was able to have another admin change my pw temporarily so I could get in, since the normal email reset process no longer works for us.

Still not sure what changed so that I had to reset or why the reset emails are no longer allowed, but at least I’m in now.
