Hi! I made a blog back in 2015 for college and no longer need this (or want people to be able to find it via google search). I believe this account was set up with my school email that I no longer have access too. Please let me know what information you need from me, so that the page can be private and no longer searchable . Thank you!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

To hide the website without access to your old college email, you must complete the WordPress.com Account Recovery process by providing “proof of ownership,” such as the original email address used in 2015 or details of any past upgrades. Once you successfully regain access to the dashboard, navigate to Settings > General > Privacy and select the “Private” option, which immediately restricts the site so only you can see it. Because the site was public for years, Google may still show a “cached” version in search results; once the site is private, you can use Google’s Outdated Content Tool to request that the old search listing be removed manually, ensuring your college project is no longer findable by the public.

Hi James! Thank you for your reply. I attempted to do the account recovery process, but I do not have any of the proof of ownership requirements that are needed. Can someone at wordpress please email me so that I can explain my situation? I can provide proof of page ownership (just outside of the requirements listed on the account recovery process page). Is there another account recovery process link that I’m missing? Thank you!

Hi there, have a look at the support guide on Account Recovery. There’s also information there about what you can do if ownership cannot be established. https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/

Hi Jennifer! Thank you for trying to help. Unfortunately I don’t have one of the three specific proof of ownerships that are currently required. I do not have a receipt/transaction ID, an activation URL/key or a two-factor authentication code. It will not let me submit the form without that. I can, however, provide my college email and any other information about myself that wordpress needs to verify that I am the owner of the page. Is there a way to get in contact with wordpress outside of the form then, since I can’t fill out the form? Thanks!
