Need help migrating followers to new site

Hi – I’d like help with two things. First, I’d like to import followers from my wordpress hosted site, cathycantunes.wordpress.com, to my other site, thedetail.net.
Once that is accomplished (and only after it has been done) I’d like to take down the wordpress hosted site. Just take it offline, not delete it entirely. Is that an option, or do I have to delete it forever?
