Need help moving my WordPress.com followers to self-hosted blog

  Hi WordPress gurus. As many others are reporting, I’m unable to move my wordpress.com followers from my old site (livewellbefabulous.wordpress.com) to my new wordpress.org site (livewellbefabulous.com). I was able to move stats, comments and most of the pics… not not my followers.

  I’ve tried everything. Please help.

  Please try and keep your requests and responses on one thread. It is very confusing for staff to have to track requests across threads.

  Hi staff-ozmodiar. Thank you for responding so quickly. Does it take a while for my followers to show up in my wordpress.org dashboard? I’m not seeing them in neither the old wordpress.com or the new wordpress.org site.

  Jetpack was originally connected to livewellbefabulous.com/wordpress so that is where the subscribers went. I now see a connection to just livewellbefabulous.com. So I have run the transfer again.

  Take a look and let me know if things look correct this time around.

  Hi rootjosh,

  I now see all 167 subscribers in my stats box. I’ve noticed I have 2 versions of livewellbefabulous.com in my list of blogs. I’m concerned that the one with the wordpress extension is causing problems such as the one you’ve encountered. How do I get rid of that one? Furthermore, how do I know which one is the livewellbefabulous.com/wordpress since they both look the same in my list of blogs?

  Hi Kay,

  I can remove the first one: livewellbefabulous.com/wordpress/ if you would like and just leave the correct one.

  Hi Grace. If you could remove that one then that would be great! The two addresses are causing conflicts such as the one root Josh described. Also, when new followers fromwordpress.com follow my blog, they’re going to the livewellbefabulous.wordpress.com blog instead of livewellbefabulous.com. I now have 3 new followes that I need to get you guys to help me move over to my self-hosted blog again.

  Hi Kay,

  That site has been removed. Also, set your WordPress.com site: livewellbefabulous.wordpress.com to private so you no longer get followers on that site.
