Need Help Optimizing My WordPress.com Business Website

    Hi everyone,

I recently created a business website on WordPress.com, and I’d love some advice on how to make it better. The site is up and running, but I feel there are areas where I could improve:

    1. How can I make the website load faster? URL is https://www.gearupeventsme.com/
    2. Is it better to have separate pages for different services or keep everything on one main services page?
    3. What’s the best way to connect pages together so visitors can easily navigate between related content?
    4. Are there any simple best practices for making a business website look more professional on WordPress.com?

I’m not very technical, so easy-to-follow suggestions would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance for your support!

Here’s how to improve (some of the few ways, of course) your WordPress.com business site with your Business plan:

    • For speed: Use compressed images, a lightweight theme, and remove unused plugins or blocks.
    • Service pages: Separate pages for each service look more professional and help customers find details easily.
    • Navigation: Add all key pages to your main menu and use buttons or text links to connect related pages.
    • Professional look: Stick to a clean design, use clear headings, add quality images, and keep colors/fonts consistent.

Hey @davidsedword It looks like the site you linked to above is hosted with Ionos and not here on WordPress.com, the hosting provider.

The best place to get help for your self-hosted WordPress site is with the good folks over at the WordPress.org help forums at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

Not sure of the difference? Here’s a guide that explains https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

@myfreelanceworks thanks for the assist. Just know that if a site URL starts with www, it’s unlikely that it’s hosted here. You can use our site profiler to get more information before replying. If you haven’t yet, you might want to read our guide to forum volunteering https://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpress-com-volunteers/
