Need help regarding removal of an Author from blog.

    I made a wordpress user the author of my blog. Now I want to remove him from the post. I removed him from “Users” but still his name is showing up in the Authors list I have on my blog. How to remove him from there?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    If the name of this deleted user is still available for selection in the “Post Author” / “Page Author” box under the “Write Post” / “Write Page” sections, Authors list, etc then you need Staff help. Here’s the link http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ After you use the searchbox, under the search results, at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.

    You can edit a Edit a Post and change the Author assigned to that Post – page down a bit to see the drop down for Author – don’t know if you can bulk edit for that function or not – never tried to reassign a deleted Author but it works with everyone is still on a blog – I am admin on one site and when others email in their Posts they get credited to me and so I change the Author to the correct person to give the proper credit.

    One note of caution: there might be some legal issues because you are removing credit from an article that a person has written and crediting the article to someone else – that is at a minimum sort of sleazy IMO

    I’m having a problem with changing a user’s access. Initially invited across as an administrator (in error), then tried to change it and delete and then send another invite, but it all seems to have gone haywire. He’s been unable to login to subsequent invites, but has recently posted a comment and his post got through without moderation.
    What I need to do is clear out the decks and start again, but how?

    This is the first time I’ve tried to add a user, failing badly . . .
