Need help starting blog that's separate from a friend's blog

I need help starting a WordPress blog that is separate from a friend’s blog. Let me explain. I went through the prompts to set up a blog, typing in the name of the blog, and then my e-mail address. I got a message, “Sorry!” (e-mail address already used) . So I logged in to WordPress and remembered that I had commented on a friend’s blog (listed below, psteenblock.wordpress.com). I then clicked on start new blog (or something like that), and I stopped. I don’t want a blog that has anything to do with psteenblock.wordpress.com. Instead, I want to use my e-mail ((email visible only to moderators and staff)) and I want to have my own WordPress blog . Can you help me? Thanks for thinking about this.

  • Hi there. The fact that you commented on another blog does not in any way link your account to your friend’s blog. Yes, your username appears where you left the comment, but that’s how it works any time you leave a comment on any blog. As you didn’t have your own blog at the time you commented, your username shouldn’t be linking anywhere, so even if someone clicked your username on that comment nothing will happen. If you register a blog now, that won’t change. Your username on that comment will always remain unlinked.

Click on My Sites and add a new blog. Unless you invite someone else as a user, only you will have access to the dashboard and be able to make changes to the blog. And you can choose whether you want your username to link to your blog when you leave comments on other sites.

Let me know if you have any more questions.
