Need help to design website and import from blogspot

  I am a novice and want to develop a website that takes videos. I also want to import my posts from blogspot.com – and transfer my domain name to wordpress but do not have a clue how to do this. Help!

  Hey there,

  Fortunately WordPress.com has a fairly straightforward solution to everything you’ve asked about. I’ll explain one by one:

  Videos: Many video services will allow you to embed their videos in your posts simply by placing a link to the video directly in your post. If you want to upload and host your video files on your blog, you can do that with VideoPress, which is included with WordPress.com Premium and WordPress.com Business plans. For more info on these features check out the Videos support page and for info on VideoPress check out the VideoPress support page.

  Transferring posts: There’s not a feature I’m aware of that will streamline the transfer of all your blogspot.com posts to your new WordPress.com site, because these platforms run on different software that doesn’t translate from one to the other. To transfer those posts you’ll probably need to do it manually, copy and pasting everything post by post.

  “Mapping” domains: I believe your question about the domain is to add a second domain that will direct to the WordPress.com blog you’ve just created. In order to add or “map” a new domain to your WordPress.com blog you must first upgrade your plan. Each plan comes with one free domain credit that allows you to do this.
