Need Help Transfering Blog URL and username

  Hello,

  I’m new to the world of blogging and I’ve completely messed up what should have been a simple url and username change.

  I have two blogs: http://jagkaur.wordpress.com and http://turbanella.wordpress.com, under one username. I accidentally created the second blog before I found out I could have changed my existing blog’s url/username. Is there a way I can still change my jagkaur blog url to the turbanella one?

  Alternatively, can I transfer all of the content, likes, followers and look/design of the first blog to the second? For some reason I’m unable to change the text colour of turbanella.wordpress.com to look like jagkaur.wordpress.com.

  I also want to ensure when I write blogs, my signature shows as turbanella instead of jagkaur. I think what I need to do is create a new username, transfer turbanella.wordpress.com to this username and set the jagkaur blog as private. Is this correct? How do I transfer all of my data from the jagkaur blog to the turbanella blog?

  This is so complicated, what should I do? (Sorry for sounding dumb :s…)

  You can’t change an existing blog’s URL to another URL that already exists. You CAN go to the dashboard Tools page, create an export file of all the contents, and on the new blog’s dashboard Tools page, click to Import that file. That moves all the contents over. Then set the old one to private or purchase the Redirect Upgrade so that anyone goes in there they automatically get bounced to the new site.

  Change your Display Name on the dashboard Profile page under “nickname.” There is another way to do it, but as that is permanent and irreversible I don’t ever recommend it.

  Thanks that worked however the colours didn’t transfer over. Last time I was able to change just the Site Title & Headline colour but it won’t allow me to do that anymore. Any suggestions?

  If I purchase the upgrade, it still won’t let me change just the title without changing the entire banner as well.

  Hi there,

  You can change the Site Title and Description by going to Appearance > Header in your Dashboard. At the bottom you can change the color of the font. You won’t need the Custom Design upgrade to change that.
