  I am trying to make the landing page the home page, but it comes out with the themes trim still.

  I want to make it paid to get to the rest of the website. The home page is a capture or landing page.

  The website you linked to, http://simplewealthllc.com/, is a self-hosted website and I would suggest you post your question on https://wordpress.org/support/ or ask the developer of your theme, http://www.elegantthemes.com/, as this is the forum for WordPress.com hosted website.
