Need Help Unmapping domain name

Hi, I’ve sold interest in my old company that set up our admosley.wordress.com blog and mapped it to prairiepass.com. I now need to map prairiepass.com to gsakich.wordpress.com but cannot figure out how to accomplish this. I have 2 days to get this done, and I’ve already spent 10 hours reading and trying to figure out how to do this on my own. I’ve got all content copied, just cannot get prairiepass.com to point to my wordpress blog.
Can someone please help me get this accomplished so that I can get this behind me?

Hi Gaby,
I can see the domain “prairiepass.com” still mapped to the old blog at “admosley.wordress.com”. If you can make a request through the user that owns “admosley.wordress.com” to have the domain mapping upgrade removed, only then can you have it mapped to “gsakich.wordpress.com”.
Let me know when that’s done, so I can help you further with this.

Hey, don’t mind me. I’m here to learn :) So, if the other user downgrades, then the domain can be mapped through a paid upgrade or just a transfer?

The domain would have to be mapped through a new paid upgrade, since the one on the other user is expired. However, the other user still technically owns the mapping record for that domain and until he gives it up (by canceling) can it be used on a different blog. Hope that clears things up. :)

Sorry, just figured out how to get back in here. So I am administrator on both gsakich.wordpress.com and on admosley.wordpress.com. If I’m reading this correctly, I need to cancel the admosley.worpress.com? I’m sorry I’m not very savvy when it comes to this kind of thing, but if you could give me step by step instructions I can follow them.
For the paid upgrade, is that just the $13/yr upgrade or something special? Thanks all for your assist!!

No worries!
Sorry for not realizing you had admin access to that blog. I went ahead and moved the domain mapping upgrade to “gsakich.wordpress.com” under your account.
What you’d want to do now is renew the domain mapping upgrade for “prairiepass.com”. You may do that by visiting the My Upgrades panel in your dashboard:
https://gsakich.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=my-upgrades
Click on “Renew Now” beside the upgrade to renew it.

That’s correct, the upgrade costs $13 a year. :)
