need help widening my footer to 1000px – swell theme

    I’m trying to alter the width of my footer so its 1000px and can’t do it. Then spotted a ::before in the code and wonder if that’s stopping me see the actual style to alter? One of those Pseudo-element things! Just a guess – but if anyone can help?

    The ::before is before the class secondary .

    If you can help that would be great. I’ll also mail the general forum to see if anyone else can help too. So not to worry if you haven’t time or inclination!

    Hi laurapalmerwp

    Your footer is currently set to a width of 100% which means that it will take up the full width of the screen.

    Are you wanting to limit the width of the footer to only 1000px?

    Hi,

    It’s more that I want the content within the footer to be 1000px. I want the white block background to be 100%.

    Somebody else has warned me that I might stop the site being responsive if I alter the footer width.. I’m guessing, however, that would be if I made the 100% a fixed pixel size. But hopefully by only making the content within the footer fixed, it’ll still be responsive..

    What do you think?
