Need help with a Neighborhood Information Search (ex. Philly.com)
-
Hey everyone,
I have a quick question. I am a local real estate agent in the Philadelphia and Main Line area and am in the process of setting up a temporary website. My goal is to highlight Philadelphia and the Main Line. Within these two sites (tjm-philadelphia.com & tjm-mainline.com), I would like the consumer (The person who is visiting the site) to be able to search for restaurants, shopping and much more. An example can be found here: http://www.mainlinetoday.com/Main-Line-Today/Resources/Shopping/ and http://www.mainlinetoday.com/Main-Line-Today/Resources/Restaurants/.
Now, I am sure that it is not easy to implement something like that into a website, but I need them…This is a long shot, but is there a plugin for this? Or possibly a third party company who sells a solution for this? I cannot seem to find any information regarding this topic.
I appreciate all of your help!

There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and we cannot install individual plugins into them Those found on the internet are for WordPress.ORG installs which run on different software.

Sorry if my response seems “amature-ish,” but I host all of my sites through Inmotion Hosting and currently have a few plugins. My websites consist of: mydomainname.com rather than wordpress.COM/name. Is that what you were referring to?

There are two kinds of WordPress: WordPress.COM (which, as timethief said, does not allow FTP access nor plugins) and WordPress.ORG (which is the software you install at your hosting provider). More info here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/Since you are using WordPress, but your site is not hosted by WordPress.com, it means you are using WordPress.ORG and are in the wrong forum. Please ask at http://wordpress.org/support/ instead.
