need help with an email i got

I got the following email from one of my authors

I have noticed that your SMOKING: ACROSTIC POEM is
consistently the number one viewed post day after day
on Poet’s Corner? It seemed odd to me?I have checked several times on consecutive days out
of curiousity and found that for “some reason” the
exact same poem is being posted day after day and in most
instances with the exact same people “Liking” it
which seems strange to me.I’m not sure if this is a clitch or what but could you
examine this and get back to me as to why it appears that

I’m not really sure what you’re asking. Looking at your stats for that post it appears traffic is currently spiking, but it looks like that happens every few months and I don’t see anything unusual otherwise.

(click on the Month tab at the top to see the spikes over time).
Spikes like this can be explained by someone else linking to your post on a post of their own that’s popular itself, a post suddenly getting shared a lot on social media, or even an old post floating to the top of search engine results. All these options mean more people start visiting your post for a while, and eventually traffic returns to normal again.
Reading between the lines in that email, it sounds like the author is saying you’re doing something to make your post get more traffic on the site than posts by other authors. Only you would know if and how you’re promoting that post, and if this is a case of an author on your site being jealous of your post being more popular than theirs, that’s something you need to sort out with them.
