need help with “Contact us” footer
-
Hi! So I started using wordpress and it plays an important role in my business model. I currently have 2 pages, the homepage and a sub page. On my main page, I have a “Contact us” footer where I can edit the texts in the editor and it works fine.
Now here’s the issue, when I go to the editor for my sub page, I can’t see the “Contact us” footer, but yet when I open the link for the sub page I can see the footer with all the default information set in.
How can I fix this? I should also add I’m using the Starter plan. -
Hi there,
WordPress websites use themes to set functionality and appearance.
Themes are made up of templates that, depending on the theme your website is using, can be edited from Appearance → Editor. These templates are like molds to which the content added to pages and posts adjusts. Most likely, that footer is part of the Pages template that is applied to the subpage of your website.
We have a great guide about this here:
A template controls the layout of your pages. Not to be confused with Themes (that set the design of your entire site), the template affects the look and feel of an individual page (or post) or groups of pages (or posts.) This guide explains how to work with page templates. About Templates The template controls how the page is displayed. You can identify the template a page is using bIf you want the same Footer showing up for the whole website, you can create a Template Part and add it to all the theme templates.
Here is our guide about Template parts:
