Need help with domain mapping

I’m a complete novice, so bear with me.

I had a Blogger account that was linked to a URL that I purchased from GoDaddy. Then, I transferred from Blogger to WordPress.com. Here’s what I’ve done so far:

I changed the nameservers at GoDaddy to NS1.WORDPRESS.COM, NS2.WORDPRESS.COM and NS3.WORDPRESS.COM. I bought 10 credits from WordPress and paid for domain mapping. I went into my dashboard and added my URL. Pretty soon after this, my URL was redirecting to the wordpress.com address, which is the opposite of what I wanted. So, I went back into my dashboard and said to put blog at the purchased URL site.

After that, I could access the .wordpress site, but when I type in my URL it says it can’t find it. So, I read something on the Internet that said I needed to change the nameservers back to the default. I did that, and figured I also needed to change the DNS www from the google thing to NS1.Wordpress.com. Now, when I type in the URL, it just has a GoDaddy thing that says the URL is parked there. The .wordpress is working fine.

WTF? Am I doing something wrong, or am I just supposed to be “waiting” for everything to transfer or something? My URL is http://www.financegetspersonal.com (www.financegetspersonal.wordpress.com).

    Thanks…
