Hi there, I would like to start using word press for a website that is already built but we want to make minor changes.
Can we ‘transfer’ the existing data into a new template?

Your site is already using WordPress – the open source WordPress software made by the community on WordPress.org.
The forum you’re posting in now is for WordPress.com, a hosting provider for that software, and your site is not hosted with us, it’s hosted with http://www.diamatrix.co.za/
If all you want to do is change your site’s design, you don’t need to transfer anything. Log into the dashboard and go to Appearance ->Themes. Upload and install the theme you want, and once you activate it your content will automatically start appearing on that theme – the theme/template is just a skin that controls how your site looks.
For more help with this process you can ask the WordPress.org community at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/, or contact support for the theme you want to use directly.
