Need help with "image ad" definition
-
Greetings — my blog is at laughingbearcomedy.com. I have the possibility of getting sponsorship for my blog (and podcast). Can I put a logo from my sponsor on my blog (that could be clicked and go to the main website of the sponsor) without running afoul of the “image ad” prohibition? I couldn’t find a definition that made me fully comfortable of the answer. Thanks — Steve McLellan

We do have an advertising program called WordAds, which you can read more about here:
Advertising outside of WordAds at WordPress.com, including what you’re describing, is not allowed. For full details, please see:
http://wordpress.com/types-of-blogs/
If you require other advertising, you might be interested in a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation. There are no restrictions on advertising if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities. Please see this link to learn about the differences:
We have hosting recommendations at the following link if you are interested:

Thanks — I don’t think WordAds would work for my situation so I will either revamp or look for a self hosted solution. Appreciate the quick response.
