Need help with Intergalactic Screen Header!

Hello!
I just started a blog two days ago and I’m still figuring everything out. I love the bold Intergalactic theme but I want to unload a clear header of my own, possibly design one at Canva.com. For one, the last time I tried this, the output as my header image was visible but unclear and cheap looking. Even as the custom size dimensions were right? Will the happen with Intergalactic?
Secondly, you can check out the link, even this sample picture I uploaded comes shaded under a film of white. I’d like it to come clear out and add some effects but even with an answer suggested on another forum to change the CSS, I can’t Find the CSS now that the appearance and ‘editing’ tab no longer exists.Will appreciate help as soon as possible!

Sorry, found the answer myself…After 6 HOURS of researching!
That’s just the way Intergalactic is…it’s not a website glitch!
Nevertheless…I’d love some comments on the header. Please review it:)
