Need help with JPEG and Word Uploads in Editor
-
My blog is http://www.yourorlandoconsultant.wordpress.com
Editor will not let me upload my Word Docs. I have Word 2007. Some sort of security statement happens when I try to upload.
Also, my JPegs get blurry/distorted when I adjust them to the size I would like on my site. Should I send them to a resizer program first, and then upload them? If so, what size should my pix be?
Thanks for all your help!

(1) your blog url does not contain “www”. No wordpress.com urls contain “www”. Your correct blog url is http://yourorlandoconsultant.wordpress.com/
(3) maximum size for blogging spaces by theme http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/09/25/how-big-can-my-images-be/
(4) Yes you should presize and optimize images prior to uploading them
http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/08/optimise-your-images/(5) why not to use Word http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/11/09/why-not-to-use-word/

Thanks Timethief… the www. was an honest mistake.
I will try having the Jpegs resized to see if that makes a difference in the clarity.
I think I may have had my Word issue solved… cut and paste my stuff. Thanks! -
You’re welcome. Be sure that the file extensions you use are correct. Currently you can upload the following: jpg, jpeg, png, gif, pdf, doc, ppt
With the space upgrade you can also upload: mp3, avi, ogg, m4a, mp4, mpg, mov, wav, and wmv.References:

Word 2007 saves documents as .docx (Microsoft’s version of xml). You can choose to “save as” Word 97-2003 and the document will then have a .doc filetype, which you can upload – you may lose formatting, though. Uploading a Word file is different than using Word as an editor for posts or comments.
