Need help with 'more tag' as there is no 'continue reading' link on website

I have entered a ‘more tag’ in the testimonials section of the home page. It appears to be placed properly in the ‘text’ area. However, when I publish the content, there is no ‘continue reading’ link. It simply cuts off my content. When I click on the person’s name who gave the testimonial, it does take me to the full content. But I really need to use the ‘more tag’ as there are several testimonials, some of which are lengthy, that II want to publish.

    Hi there,

It looks like each of your testimonials are pages rather than posts. The “More” tag is designed to work with posts rather than with pages. If it is cutting the page off where you had intended it, that is fantastic, but it is more than what it was designed for.

I apologize, but the more tag just isn’t designed to be used in this instance, so there isn’t anything I can do to fix it.

Instead, what you could do is create a shorter version of each testimonial and a long version. The short version has a link to the longer version. The short version is displayed on the front of your site and the long version doesn’t get displayed anywhere, it only gets linked to if someone clicks on that link on the short version.

Would something like that work for you?
