NEED HELP with my website

    I’m from India and I want to link my domain with wordpress and re-create my entire website. My store right now is hosted on a pre-made storefront for small businesses. Is it mandatory to get hosting from WordPress to use woocommerce as a plugin for my storefront? I’m finding it extremely difficult to connect to WordPress customer care. How do I do that ? And before I transfer my domain to WordPress, Can I build the site first on WordPress-provided domain and then connect my purchased domain with WordPress?

    If you want to use WooCommerce on the wordpress.com platform, you must upgrade to the Business Plan or the eCommerce Plan, https://wordpress.com/pricing/.

    Is it mandatory to get hosting from WordPress to use woocommerce as a plugin for my storefront?

    The WooCommerce plugin is designed for the open source WordPress software, so you must use WordPress. But you can host your site anywhere you want – WordPress.com is one option (in our case you’ll need the Business or eCommerce plan to use plugins like WooCommerce), or you can go with another host like Bluehost or Pressable, to name just two of the hundreds of options available on the web.

    I’m finding it extremely difficult to connect to WordPress customer care. How do I do that ?

    Do you mean WordPress.com? Your account with us is only a few days old, and this forum thread is the first time you’ve ever contacted us.

    On every page in the dashboard on WordPress.com you’ll see a question mark icon in the bottom-right corner. You can click that at any time to open a support request, and what type of support you’ll have access to depends on your plan.

    If you mean the WordPress software itself, that’s made by a global community of volunteers on WordPress.org, and that community provides support for the software in their forums at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

    But if you host your site here on WordPress.com, we provide support for both the software and your hosting account with us.

    And before I transfer my domain to WordPress, Can I build the site first on WordPress-provided domain and then connect my purchased domain with WordPress?

    If you plan to host your site here on WordPress.com, you can create it on the free address we provide and only connect your domain later if you prefer. To connect your domain you’ll add the Domain Connection upgrade included in all our plans. Our annual plans also include one free domain transfer, should you want to transfer the domain registration to us entirely.
