Need help with new domain name/content

    I renewed my domain and changed the name from “chillersandthrillers.com” to “afterwriterdreams.com”. First problem: when I Google the new domain name, it does not appear on the search engine. I was able to do that with the old domain with no problem by just typing it in Google. Second: When the old domain expires, will I lose my blog content that is now under my new domain name? What do I need to do to be sure that doesn’t happen?

    The short answer is “this just takes time”. For a bit more info, take a look at this support page on search engines and WordPress.com:

    No, you will not. The name is just an outside label. The content is technically tied to your http://oliviabridges.wordpress.com/ and is independent of what you choose for a Custom Domain. Now, as you have already noticed, you may loose some search engine ranking for a while as things are re-indexed at the new address. But you will not lose content.
