need help with rerouting my domain to a squarepace site using cname & A record

  I’m attempting to map my current wordpess site to my new Squarespace site using an A Record and CNAME, using this information:

  CNAMES (Aliases)
  Host……….Points to
  www –> http://www.squarespace6.com

  A (Host)
  Host……….Points to
  @ –> 65.39.205.57

  My site JoelJanikowski.com needs to reroute to https://joel-janikowski.squarespace.com/

  Hi there, I’ve updated your DNS records and your domain is now pointing to your Squarespace site. If you don’t see it at your end yet, you may need to wait a few hours or clear your browser’s cache.

  Thank you so much! I am not leaving wordpress completely, great blogging for other sites!

  Quick questions tho, while I am waiting for it to reroute, should it be sending me to: janskimedia.wordpress.com? Thats what its doing right now. I am sure this is normal but let me know!

  Also do i just keep renewing my domain here at wordpress to keep my .com name? basically keep paying for it here and everything will be fine? let me know thank you!

  Did you try clearing your browser cache and checking the site in a different browser? You should eventually see your new Squarespace site on the domain. With some ISPs it can take longer for name server changes to propagate, but within 24 hours you should see your new site. If not, let me know.

  Yep, if you’d like to keep your domain registered with us, just keep renewing it and all should be OK!

  Hello again! Thanks so much for the help on rerouting my last site! There is another site that needs this exact same thing done to it.

  We can do that, but we’ll need to receive the request from the user who owns the domain.
