Need help with suspicious comments
-
I am getting suspicious comments from a recent blog subscriber. Here’s the content of the latest, which was sent this morning. It’s the third such message I have received; the first two were all-caps interrogations with a non-sequiter closing (see January 14 comments for the first exchange) Here is the text of the comment, followed by the URL of my blog. I don’t know how to handle this, as it seems highly unusual. Needless to say, I have sent NO emails to this person. How can I unsubscribe them from my blog? The blog I need help with is http://defeatdespair.wordpress.com Thanks, copied comments follow:

Many spammers & trolls just lie and bait you – get questions on my site all the time about how to subscribe (click on the Subscribe Button moron) – and on and on

Hi, thanks for the responses. kardotim, I do moderate my comments as auxclass suggested, so I did not publish it at all. However, it occurred to me that this person may have been subscribed to my blog by someone else and not realize how to unsubscribe. I sent them (through a blind email address) an individual email explaining that I did not have the power to unsubscribe them, that is something they would need to do. I also asked them to find out more about how blogging works, including blog etiquette. I really think it might have been just a clueless person who somehow subscribed (or got subscribed) to my blog without knowing how to stop it. We’ll see what happens from here on in.

I think that email subscriptions are “Opt In” to prevent people from being subscribed to a blog by a prankster –
