Need help with the Forever Theme Featured Slider
-
Hello everyone. I need a bit of help. In transferring the Forever theme from a wordpress blog (http://alexissleeping.wordpress.com) to a self-hosted one (http://glitchcat.com), the featured slider shrank in size and displays a > symbol beneath it. Any idea how I can fix this?
Thank you for your time.

The blog you specified at glitchcat.com does not appear to be hosted at WordPress.com.
This support forum is for blogs hosted at WordPress.com. If your question is about a self-hosted WordPress blog then you’ll find help at the WordPress.org forums.

You need to post to the correct support forum for your new software knowing that the version of the theme you are using now is for WordPress.org software and it’s not the same as the version of it that we have at WordPress.com

Also note that your custom design upgrade you purchased from WordPress.com applies only to your WordPress.com free hosted blog that you purchased it for. It’s not transferable. You cannot get CSS editing help with it on this support forum. You need to get that help at WordPress.org support.

Alex,
There’s an extra > on line 86 of the index.php of this theme. All you need to do is remove it. Hope that helps.

Just to note, I’ve checked the theme at WordPress.com and there’s no extra > in the original theme code. If you have an extra > it could be because you modified the theme after downloading it.

Sure, that’s a possibility, but not in my case. On line 86, the line read:
</div><!– .feature-content –>>I removed the extra > so that the extra > wasn’t rendered on the page. No if only I could tell you exactly where I downloaded the theme. Automattic’s source (https://wpcom-themes.svn.automattic.com/forever/index.php) is up-to-date, so it wasn’t there. If I remember I’ll be sure to report back here.
