Need help with the free wordpress plan

    I have a wordpress site hosted with Ipage but I want to cancel that plan & go with the free wordpress plan. I already have an account with wordpress.com and all my content appears to be accessible. Can anyone tell me why when I type in the coloradowestoutdoors.wordpress.com url I get an error indicating my website doesn’t exist? What do I still need to do in order to have wordpress.com host my site rather then Ipage?

    Hi!

    There are two things commonly called “WordPress”.

    1. WordPress the free open-source site building software from WordPress.org (this is what you used to build your website).
    2. WordPress.com, a web host for sites using WordPress software.

    The two are related, but completely separate entities. Lots more information here, if you are interested.

    So, it looks like you have a WordPress site (using the software from WordPress.org) set up and hosted with ipage. If you were interested in moving that site to WordPress.com, we’d be happy to help!

    This indeed is not a site that has been created on WordPress.com yet. If you’d like to create it, click on this link, enter coloradowestoutdoors in the domain box, and then choose coloradowestoutdoors.wordpress.com as indicated in this screenshot:
