Need Help with XML and WXR importing on WordPress

    You’re all set now. A few tips:

    A. Head to https://wordpress.com/posts/shannakaychic.wordpress.com and delete the sample posts. You don’t need those since you’ve already got real posts to take their place.

    B. Right now you’re using a theme meant for block-based-posts with a static front page, but yours aren’t block based. I’d recommend these steps for now:

    1) Head to My Site > Customize > Homepage Settings. Set to Latest Posts. Save and publish.

    2) Go to https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/blog/shannakaychic.wordpress.com and click the three dots next to a theme you like. Choose Try and Customize. Save and publish if you find one you love.

    Also in case anyone needs to know how I went about this, for now, here’s what worked:

    1) I used a publicly accessible .org instance and ran Ghost Importer.

    2) I exported that.

    3) Given that you were using relative URLs, I did a find and replace, replacing "/wp-content/uploads/ with "https://myimporterinstance.com/wp-content/uploads, then saved that, then imported into your blank site.

    4) I’m running a script to be sure the proper URLs are used.

    And then, again since the site has a static front page currently, and some extra content on it, I recommend switching to showing posts first and picking a theme that displays them nicely for you.
