Howdy –
I’m happy to help. So, with WordPress.com we include hosting as part of our managed environment. If your site is with WordPress.com then you would not need to use AWS hosting.
There’s 2 ways to connect your domain to WordPress.com. You need the personal plan or higher to do this. Those plans include our hosting and access to dedicated support team, and many nitty gritty details that we include out of the box. Things like SEO, back ups, security, and so on… This really allows you to focus on your site content.
1. Map the domain: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
2. Transfer the domain: https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/Now, if you are looking at keeping AWS, then you’d be using the other version of WordPress. That’s WordPress.org, and it is the open source, community maintained installation. This is very different from the managed environment of WordPress.com.
Write back with follow up questions. We will be close by for more help.

Hi @jainankita77,
To expand on staff-zinnia’s reply, the info you may be looking for is here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/move-domain/change-name-servers/#changing-name-servers-to-point-away-from-wordpress-comHowever, you do need a paid plan to do this — i.e. map the domain you bought from WordPress to custom name servers (AWS). Unless you want to change your host to WordPress.com, it may be more cost effective to transfer your domain to AWS:
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/Route53/latest/DeveloperGuide/domain-transfer-to-route-53.htmlAs lizkarkoski said, WordPress.com provides a lot of benefits. Not sure what your needs are, but it may be worth it in the long run.
If it’s self-hosted WordPress.org site, you can easily transfer it:

thanks @cmata01. :)
@jainankita77 let us know if you have any questions! And if it helps, the primary benefit of WordPress.com vs your own installation, is that we provide hosting, management, and support. If you run your own installation, you can buy those services or manage them on your own.
