Need information on ecommerce vs website hosting

Hi, now I know this may be a dumb question but I want to make sure I’m doing the right thing. Now if I’m sign up for a website builder plan is this different from a ecommerce site. For example will there be 2 different payments that are required? One for website and one for ecommerce?

At WordPress.com, if you want an e-commerce website, you need a Business plan because that’s how you can install WooCommerce.
Having a simple site or an e-commerce site isn’t different. You can pay for the Business plan and accomplish everything.
