Need IP address to move from WIX to WordPress

  Please, help! I’m losing my mind. I current have a site up hosted by WIX, my domain name is also purchased through WIX.

  I just bought a premium WordPress site…. premium plan….. paid the $13 to map my domain name to WordPress….

  Contacted WIX to change my DNS Server like it says to in my “next step” e-mail. However, WIX says they don’t do that… that I just need to update my IP address.

  HOW do I find a WordPress IP Address?????? In the support forum it says to contact them for an IP Address…then when you click “Contact” it circles back to the original help forum.

  Can anyone please help me get my domain name working with this new WordPress site? Thanks!

  keep in mind that WordPress.COM does not use static IP address and they change based on server load, equipment maintenance etc. When I first moved here I think there were three IP address and last I looked my site now has six shared with millions of different sites

  Unfortunately you’ll need to first transfer your domain registration to a different provider. Most domain providers will let you change name servers, but Wix doesn’t. https://www.wix.com/support/html5/domains/transferring-domains-to-wix/kb/transferring-your-wix-domain-away-from-wix-2477749

  After you do that, you can update your name servers and map your domain here.

  I ran into the same thing. Wix sent me an email saying:

  Your request to transfer your domain XXXXXXXXX away from Wix has been received.
  To complete the switch to your new registrar, please use the transfer code below within the next 7 days.

  Transfer Code:
  XXXXXXXXX

  How to Use the Code?
  Copy this code into the required field with your new registrar, and your domain transfer will be completed.
  Please note that some registrars will require a mandatory 60-day waiting period between purchase and transfer of domain.

  so, where can I copy the code to wordpress for my domain transfer to occur?

  You’ll paste that code when you begin transferring your domain to some registrar, not WordPress.com.

  So, if you want to transfer to Hover, you can follow this process and use the code over there. https://www.hover.com/transfer_in
