Need IP address to point DNS to WordPress
-
I’m trying like hell to get everything transferred from Wix to WordPress. Right now I’m absolutely stuck at the section where WordPress is telling me to point my DNS to them, and when I try to do this through Wix by adding a new A record it’s asking for WordPress’s IP address and I can’t find it anywhere. I need an IP address before I throw my laptop in the backyard, light it on fire, and roast marshmallows on it.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Noo! Your poor laptop!
Here’s the DNS address:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COM -
I have the DNS address, but it’s asking for IP address also. I wish I could screenshot the page that I’m looking at.
This is what I’m looking at though:
Add a new A record
A record, also known as address record, is most commonly used to map domain name (e.g. yourdomain.com) or sub-domain (e.g. my.yourdomain.com) to an IP address.
In other words, the A record specifies the IP address to which the user would be sent for each domain name.
For example: if you want to point your domain “yourdomain.com” to Wix, the A record should be as follow: ‘Host Name’ = “yourdomain.com” or blank (automatically insert your domain name as host name) and ‘Points to IP Address’ = 216.185.152.154.Host Name: ______________.carlymoonimages.com
Points to IP Address: _________________________

There’s a mention of IP addresses here:

Found another answer here, which might be even more relevant to you as it’s a similar Wix-to-WordPress case:

Oh man, now I’m really confused! lol.. Thank you for finding the IP addresses! Now I’m reading above that and seeing that I should maybe transfer my domain to DreamHost and then change it? I mean it makes sense since I am changing my hosting to DreamHost from Wix, but this just complicates things 10x more. Ahhhhh, I’m getting the matches, lol.

Our IP addresses change pretty regularly, so it’s not the most reliable method of pointing a domain to WordPress.com. It’s much better to use the name servers, as those are static.
If that’s not an option, currently the IP addresses are:
76.74.254.123
192.0.80.250
192.0.81.250
66.155.9.238
66.155.11.238
76.74.254.120As I noted in the previous thread, you should create at least two A records with two of the IP addresses above, and you can use all of them if you wish.
