Need IP adresse for

  • Unknown's avatar

I need wordpress IP for my domain. I want to switch Wix to WordPress. I want to point my domain to wordpress, but your “IP” is not correct. I have to remplace wix IP ( 23.236.62.147. ) and NS1.WORDPRESS.COM NS2.WORDPRESS.COM NS3.WORDPRESS.COM is not correct.

    Because I can’t send a screent print, I do a copie/past :

A record, also known as address record, is most commonly used to map domain name (e.g. yourdomain.com) or sub-domain (e.g. my.yourdomain.com) to an IP address.
In other words, the A record specifies the IP address to which the user would be sent for each domain name.
For example: if you want to point your domain “yourdomain.com” to Wix, the A record should be as follow: ‘Host Name’ = “yourdomain.com” or blank (automatically insert your domain name as host name) and ‘Points to IP Address’ = 23.236.62.147.

    Host Name: .essenceadama.com
    Points to IP Address: 23.236.62.147.
Time to Live (TTL): 1 hour

Help me please. My website is off…

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Nameservers are the correct way to point a domain to WordPress.com.

When you changed the nameservers, how long did you give the change to work? DNS changes can take up to 72 hours to update through the internet. So if you expected it to work instantly, you likely would have been disappointed.

    Did you follow these instructions?

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

What is the custom domain name you want to map to your blog here?

  • Unknown's avatar

I can not change Nameserver with wix and I do not konow why…

I only can change A and IP address (like 23.236.62.147.). Is there a IP number who is similar than 23.236.62.147. ? Technical support in wix toldme than wordpress have to give me a IP adresse like 23.236.62.147. but nobody do it… Maybe I have to stay with wix…

Auxclass, yes, I follow the instrutions. I want to map essenceadama.com on my blog.

There are 3 name servers as you saw in the documentation, there are 6 IP addresses – staff-ozmodiar should be able to help you with the current IP addresses – when you do the IP address route use more than one IP address and also be aware that the IP address for your blog might change during the day – and if an IP address is retired you will not be notified

For the long term, you might think of transferring your registration to a Registrar that allows name server addressing – some friends use Name Cheap –

WordPress.COM is not set up for incoming domain name transfers

Thanks auxclass. It will be more easy to understand with a print screen but I can send it…

the forum system informs staff-ozmodiar that there are more comments in the thread that he has answered into – – he should check his threads today to see if there is more that he needs to do to help you – I think he is on the West Coast of the U.S. – it is now morning here – but I don’t know his schedule for his forum duties

  • The best way to map a domain to a WordPress.com blog is to set your domain’s nameservers to the following values:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

However, if your registrar requires that you create A records, please note that our IPs change over time. Because of this, your domain might stop working at some point in the future. If that happens, please get in touch with us to find out the most current IPs and then update your A records accordingly.

If you still want to go ahead and map your domain using A records, please be sure to create at least two, pointing to two different IPs from the list below:

    66.155.11.238

    192.0.80.250

    76.74.254.123

    66.155.9.238

    192.0.81.250

    76.74.254.120

    192.0.78.16

  • However, as Auxclass has pointed out, the best thing to do would be to transfer to a registrar that allows nameservers. There is no reason to stick with a registrar that does not offer you the options you need.
