need more info about WP plans

I am building an online academy. I don’t see plans that include any animation. Will need a rolling banner on home page. Will provide videos for members only. Can I install videos on my site for members only without using YouTube?

Hi there!
I don’t see plans that include any animation. Will need a rolling banner on home page.
You’ll probably want to use a plugin for that and those are available on plans Business and eCommerce.
Can I install videos on my site for members only without using YouTube?
You can upload videos directly to your site on plans Premium and above.
Since you mentioned providing those only for members on your site, you’ll need a membership plugin and, as mentioned above, those are available on plan Business. Here’s more information about the plan:

Let me know if you have any more questions regarding that.

Actually, I have a couple other questions. I have other domains hosted by Register.com and Blue Host, with a site currently using a plugin theme. I’ve paid renewal fees for those domains and for the emails associated with them, for several years. I’m hoping to consolidate my website to WordPress only, and discontinue the other site. I would simply redirect the domains to the WP site I am currently considering building.
My question is, if I have domains that were purchased before and hosted by other firms, would I be able to transfer those domains to WP hosting at some point, or should I just continue to renew those domains with their current hosts?
Thank you. -
Hi there,
So, if you have a domain you want to use at WordPress.com that you have hosted elsewhere, you do indeed have the option to map or transfer that domain.
First, whether you map or transfer your existing domain, you will need to purchase a WordPress.com plan.
The biggest factors to consider would be who you want to host your domain, how much your domain host currently costs compared to the domain + plans packages we offer here, and whether or not you want to host your domain and site at the same place.
If you transfer the domain to WordPress.com, we’ll manage the domain. You’ll pay for the mapping and the plan here (domain is included within the plan price for the first year).

But, if you keep the domain with your current host and map the domain to WordPress.com, your current host will continue to manage the domain and you’ll still need to pay them for hosting your domain.

For more information about the domain, please visit our support page:
Also, since you have custom emails connected to your domains in order for your current email to continue functioning after moving the domain over to WordPress.com, you will need to obtain the custom DNS records from your email provider and add them to your WordPress settings:
Take a look and let me know if you have any trouble with adding the records.
Thanks,

I have bookmarked those links and will address those issues later when they come up for renewal, after I get my website set up.Thank you sir. This is helpful.
