Need my comment deleted from an abandoned wordpress page

    Hi, I need your help guys.

    Without thinking too much I made a comment on a blog and placed my email address there. When I realized what can it lead to (spam, scam, phishing and more) I tried to delete it but couldnt find a way to do it.

    Looking closer I realized admin abandoned the page about 7 years ago, the email provided to contact him/her doesnt even exist (I received an automated reply its invalid). What to do in such case if nobody with comment removal privileges is taking care of the page and there are security concerns involved?

    Hi!

    According to this support page

    It is not possible to edit or delete any comments you have left on other WordPress.com blogs. Blog owners are in full control of the comments on their blogs, so you can try contacting the blog owner and ask them to edit or delete a comment for you. If the blog owner has not posted any contact information, you can try leaving a short comment asking how to contact them directly.

    well Im sorry to say but as in my previous post – owner does not administer the page at all for <b>7 years</b> – contact info does not exist any more and there is absolutely no sign of activity at all from his side. Leaving a comment asking to delete that will sit there forever not red by anyone capable does not solve the problem does it?

    So in such instance according to GDPR rules (https://gdpr.eu/right-to-be-forgotten/) I have the right to request that owner of the service (here: WordPress) remove my personal data. Publishing them was a form of consent and now the consent is being withdrawn.

    I take it really seriously, please if you can provide support and facilitate the removal.

    @coldscreena1daabea03 – as our support page indicates, WordPress.com Staff won’t remove content from sites without the site owner’s permission.

    If you want to file an appeal, you would need to submit a request through this form:

    https://wordpress.com/abuse/

    Choose the “This content contains my private information” option and fill out any of the required information and submit the form. Then, our Trust and Safety team will review your request and respond via email.
