Need My Domain Back!
-
Hi! Under my LoveShari.com domain, I had accidentally tried to register a new domain (TheChosenRose.com) using my LoveShari account and realized it only redirected that domain to my LoveShari.com domain. So I deleted it to try to make it a separate website >.< … little did I know the domain TheChosenRose.com would still be considered “taken” as it is in redemption I believe? I saw something say you may be able to wait 80 days for it to be released, or it could be gone for good!!! 😱 But it’s MINE!!! I need it back :( Please help!!! Will it be released so I can re-claim the domain?!? And if so, would the WordPress.com employees be able to identify the day it’ll be released?!?! Help me 😞💔

Hey there, can you contact the company you registered the domain through? It seems to be through Google Domains.
We can only help redeem domains that are registered here.
Going forward, no matter where you register a domain, please be aware that cancelling means you are giving up ownership, so if you want to do something with a domain and can’t figure out how, contact support instead of cancelling.
Good luck!

Hey! I actually registered it under WordPress. On my LoveShari.com account with WordPress, in the domain settings I had clicked ‘Add a Domain to this site’ and had added TheChosenRose.com to it. But realized it only redirected to LoveShari.com. So that’s when I deleted it realizing I did it wrong. But immediately right after I tried to make TheChosenRose.com as a new site, it said it was taken which meant when I deleted it, I made it go into redemption and I would have to wait for it to be released (according to what I’ve researched). Idk why it’d say it’s registered with Google Domain?? I think that’s for protection to mask it being registered with WordPress?? But idk how to get it back and for how much longer I need to wait for it to possibly be released 😔

TheChosenRose.comis both registered and hosted with Google, not us.If you’d like to use it with a site here, we have two options:
Mapping allows you to keep the domain registered with your current domain registrar and direct it to your WordPress.com site: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/
A transfer would allow to manage both your site and domain from the same place: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/
https://loveshari.com/ is both registered and hosted here, but belongs to a different WordPress.com account, not the one you’re currently logged in to.
If you do not recall the password for the correct account, we have some options for you at https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/

Can you check again as that domain was registered two years ago. Was that you or did you try and register that (taken) address recently?

Yes, I know LoveShari.com is registered under this account. That’s what I’ve been saying, that I had added TheChosenRose.com to this account of mine, not the other one I just commented with. Had deleted it from this account because it was added as a redirect to LoveShari.com when I wanted it to be its own site. But once I tried to make it as its own site, it said it was taken. Apparently when I deleted it, it kept it in some collection where I would either have to wait for it to be released after a number of days or it’s gone for good without anyone being able to get a hold of it.
And I definitely did not register it under Google Domain, never even went to that website. So I’m assuming under my privacy settings it must have used Google Domains to mask all of the information. I’ve checked to see if I had an account with Google Domains that has the TheChosenRose.com domain and it’s not there. Because I had deleted it, it wouldn’t be available anywhere. It’s just in some kind of redemption. I’m going to contact Google Domains to see if they know what’s wrong.

@themagicrobot I’m positive it was me that had it registered two years ago. And thechosenrose.wordpress.com is the one I just created today. But I’m trying to have wordpress removed from the domain but apparently when I deleted it, something held the domain hostage and I can’t get my hands back on it 🤦🏽♀️ But it keeps coming up as being registered with Google Domains which doesn’t make any sense but I’m going to contact them

You’d need to be logged in to Google domains to delete that domain. If you wish to use that domain here at WordPress.com just upgrade https://thechosenrose.wordpress.com/ to a paid plan and either map or transfer the domain following the links provided by staff-blorbo.
