Need my Domain Back – Accidentally Canceled
-
Hello! I made a mistake when registering my domain (www.thisisjustatastetest.com), misunderstanding the difference between wordpress.com and wordpress.org. I had intended to use a host such as Bluehost, register my domain through them, and use the installed WordPress plugin through that website. Instead, I registered my domain through WordPress.com, realized my mistake, and canceled my subscription for a refund.
However, it now appears that I may not be able to get that domain back at all. I had assumed that if I cancelled it, it would become available again, and I could go to Bluehost and register it there. Now, it seems like it’s stuck in limbo somewhere and inaccessible. I desperately need this domain name, and am now panicking that I may have thrown it away by accident. What are my options?
If I need to revoke the cancellation and keep it registered through WordPress.com, I will do that. If it becomes available again to register elsewhere, please tell me how long it will take for the domain to become available again. Thank you so much.
Sincerely,
Katherine McCuneThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello Katherine, don’t panic—your site is probably in a grace period following cancellation, which takes 30-60 days. Reach out to WordPress.com support to determine if they can roll back the cancellation or assist you with recovery. Otherwise, you might have to wait for it to become available once more.
