Need my domain back again

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,
I paid to create a domain “tunabdulle.com” without realizing when I clicked on the website, it still said tunabdulle.wordpress.com. I canceled my plan because i was not happy with the link but I would like it back to possibly upgrade it.

1.) Even though I am the one who canceled it, it still says the domain name is mapped to a wordpress site.

2.) If I am able to get it back, how can i get rid of the wordpress.org part of the domain name?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

If you register a domain without a plan, then that domain redirects to your .wordpress.com address.

To set the domain as the primary address of your site you need to upgrade to one of our plans.

Now that you’ve canceled your domain it will be released in about a week and you’ll be able to register again through any other service. If you want to keep using with us, let me know so that I can send you a payment request and restore it.

    Hello,
Could you tell me which plan will allow me to use the domain as the primary address before I decide to restore it?
    Thanks!

  • All paid plans will. :)

    Hello,
Is there anyone who can help me restore that domain so I can upgrade it?

  • Yes, would you like to go ahead and upgrade the plan or would you like us to send an invoice for just the non-primary domain?

    Hello,
I would like to upgrade the plan to the one I had before. It was $18 for the year for the domain.
    Thanks for the help!

  • The domain has been restored. Now, you need to pick an upgraded hosting plan in order for the domain to be primary. The personal option is the most affordable way to start. Add it to your account from https://wordpress.com/pricing/

I’ve also sent an $18 manual payment to you via email for the domain restoration. Since a refund was processed automatically you need to pay us for the domain registration again.
