  I have just set up a new website with the help of a web developer. He will not give me the login details to WordPress despite all efforts

  First things first: what is the URL of that site as we can only help with sites running on the wordpress.com platform. If your site is hosted elsewhere, you must take a look in the documentation at wordpress.org
