Need New Themes?Do this!

    Hey People,
    I had actually sent an email to the wordpress.com support team requesting for new themes(as in freewpthemes.net) to be added to wordpress.com.

    I received the following reply from them..
    “Hi,
    We are working to get new themes added, but we will not be able to allow people to upload themes to WordPress.com on their own. That is only an option for self-hosted WordPress.org blogs. I’ll pass your feedback about freewpthemes.net along to our designers though. If there are enough requests for the same themes, they’ll consider adding one from there”

    They say that if many people request for themes to be added from “freewpthemes.net” or any other websites onto wordpress.com,they will fulfill the request.

    So,why dont you all send an email to the support team http://support.wordpress.com/contact/ [email link corrected – hanni] requesting them to add new themes?

    Themes considered for use here have to be full standard GPL licensed. The themes at freewpthemes.net are under creative commons license. They will never show up here unless freewpthemes changes the licensing for the themes to full standard GPL. From their website:

    Are 100% free for personal or commercial use, since they’re released under the terms of the Creative Commons Attributions 2.5 license. You don’t have to pay me (or anyone else) anything to use them, regardless of what you want to use them for.
