Need offline post/page editor that works/feels like WP dashboard… quick.

I’m leaving for 3 months overseas in a couple (3) days and need something pronto to compose & edit posts offline. I am working with WP.com, not WP.org Using Firefox.
I just spent 3 days thinking the WP “desktop” was the answer I was looking for. 2 PCs, OS Win7 Home Premium, attempting to follow all the guides and install Wamp Server… it’s going nowhere with msvcr110.dll and msvcp110.dll issues, installed those then it just gets deeper as to what the “problem” is. Prior to that it was dealing with Visual C++ issues (don’t quote me on that exactly).
I just gave up and found Instant WP. Load it no problem, follow instructions to edit pms_config file to default to Firefox and it won’t save the file no matter what. Plus all I am seeing is the ability to work with the front page.
I’m running out of time to track down then fight with yet another program to hopefully do what I need.
I’m looking for a simple, no-brainer solution where I can compose/edit posts/pages (I can handle the basic coding on the “text” page) and then have it “translate/read” to another window as it would appear online. Although the popups for “links” and “add media” would be great.
Ideally I would like something that looks like the page/post editor one gets to through “Top left user” –> Dashboard –> Posts –> “edit” under the Post Name. Don’t ask me why, depending on where I access a post editor or new post different versions come up from each route entered that are completely different in functionality.
Uggg, really need some simple solutions that will work without having to be a computer genius! Thanks in advance.
direct emails to me on this are fine too. (email visible only to moderators and staff)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

ps…. suggestions on the a better way to get a shortlink code. Why there is no plugin/widget is beyond me on the WP.com side. May be it is my LCD screen on my PC, but trying to copy it out of the top left “user” drop down is a nightmare… disappears 5 times before I can actually copy it.
Thanks again!

Found by searching the support docs for “offline”.

Raincoaster, can you verify it is truly an offline version? Windows Live anything has demonstrated itself to often be anything but.
JustJennifer, yes I did see those options as all the others I tried. Looking for feedback from users if possible. Thanks
