Need opinion on my archive site and how to proceed with Mac/Pages '09

I have a very content heavy (many pages) and image heavy (many images of aircraft) blog:

    http://forestprotectiontbmavengers.wordpress.com/

and I need some one to have a look at it, maybe give me an opinion on what to do next.

My blog is not really a blog but a history archive of a certain type of aircraft and it’s activities. I update it only every year or so. It is now time for a MAJOR UPGRADE, as I have rewritten/reformatted many of the pages and have more pages to add.

I am on a MAC and my new text is in PAGES ’09 whereas before I was using a pc and a word-based editor to add text.

Q: Do I have to resubmit every image through the media and add each one (20-30 for each page) separately? What I would like to do is just add the Pages file to the blog as is, with the images intact. It would save me weeks/months of work!!! Possible?

I need some basic advice here. Can someone take a look at my site and offer an opinion?

Maybe WordPress is not the most appropriate place for my archive?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It sounds like you need a program like Windows Live Writer (WLW) for a Mac. Doing a search on the web brings up MarsEdit ($40) as a possibility. I have not tried this program, so I cannot say it would do what you need it to do. There is a free 30-day trial. You might have to export your Pages files as RTF files to use them in MarsEdit.

I take it you don’t have Parallels or Oracle VirtualBox (free) with a Windows partition on your Mac. If you did, then it would be a matter of passing the files over to the Windows side in a format that WLW could read. From there, you could post from WLW to your blog with the text and images intact. However, since some of your updates are edits of existing pages, then you would need to first bring your existing pages back to WLW, which is easy to do, and update those pages in WLW before posting them to your blog.
