Need refund for runaway-resorts.com. Paid $500 and did not get website finished.

    Hello, I had Jason Strite from WordPress working on a website for runaway-resorts.com that we paid $500 for. They did some work on it, but then they seemed to have dropped off the face of the earth. We would like to get a refund of our $500, as I am building a site myself now using Wix.com.

    I’m sorry but we cannot provide accurate answers to any blogger who fails to provide the exact URL starting with http:// for the exact blog they refer to so we can verify where it is hosted. Please do that now.

    Alternatively, if you have been working with Staff then you have an email address you can use to contact them so please use it.

    This is the WordPress.COM support forum. You need to post to the WordPress.ORG support forum for help with your site because it is not hosted by WordPress.COM.

    WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have different logins and have separate support forums. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

    There is a Twitter exchange with Matt where he says they have never had an employee by that name at WordPress and suggested you email the help email at WordPress.com – did you try and get help from the staff?

    I will flag this for the staff but it looks like you were not working with a real WordPress.com employee, so what the staff can do will be limited

    also WordPress.COM does not do custom web design work

    Thank you for the timely responses. Our website is indeed hosted by Bluehost. We ordered the business package for $500, and I was surprised when they started working on the site for us. I was expecting to build it myself. I have tried time and time again to contact Jason Strite and “Heather” (that’s the only name I have for her), to no avail. I thought we had purchased the upgrade through WordPress.com, but perhaps it was WordPress.org instead. I have looked at both sites. I’ll take a look at that Twitter post.

    Yes I did search before I posted above and I did find out you were posting to the wrong support forum as you are posting about a site hoisted by Blue Host and running on a WordPress.ORG software install. There is no WordPress.COM Staff support for software WordPress.org installs and IMHO contacting Matt maybe a time waster. IMHO you need to contact Blue Host staff directly.
