Need some advice on mapping a new domain

I’ll start with saying I’m new to wordpress. My aim here is to create my page and eventually hook it up as an amazon affiliate site.
I want to create the page on here, get it all looking nice a smooth, a little content but mainly pics,descriptions and reviews about the products I’ll be advertising.
My question is, could I set everything up ready on wordpress and then buy a private domain and also change my hosting to say hostgator and continue to use wordpress through that?Thank you in advance for anyone who wants to help a newb out (:

Sounds like you will have problems with the Terms of Service based on what you have indicated above – probably best to start at WordPress.ORG since you will be selling ads or placing ads on your site

Ok so if I create essentially a template on .org could I then when I’m ready change the domain and the host but still use wordpress on the hostgator plugins?

I know if I just start at HG, get the wordpress plugin and go from there its all good. But could I do all the work here then when I’m ready to ad ads change it all over to HG and use there plugin to continue using wordpress as the website builder?
