Need some help
-
Hello, not sure where to post this topic, so maybe someone can give me some guidance as to where it should be posted, or about the problem itself.
I’m looking for some help in creating users for my website, that are not WordPress users. I’ve looked through plugins, and the only thing I’m able to find is plugins that make it easy for people to register for the actual WP part of the site.
Instead, I’d like to have a database of users that are able to log in to my site. Does anyone know if it’s possible to make users, that are not logging in to wordpress, but some other third party plugin that manages users?
Thanks in advance.

Hi, JC. It would be helpful to know what you’re trying to accomplish. Are you trying to make your site private, so that only specific people are able to read it? Or do you intend for these users to be able to contribute to your site, i.e., by writing blog posts?
Here’s some info about users roles:

Thanks the for the response, Brian. Basically, I’m trying to make a site that allows users to log in and view particular details of their account. Basically, I’d like to have a registration page that allows users to register (but not register for WP itself). And from there, they should be able to view details about their personal account.

What you’re trying to do sounds fairly complicated. Maybe someone will come along with another solution, but I think you may want to consider a self-hosted WordPress.org site. This would give you increased functionality that WordPress.com can’t offer.

Is http://jcpaynedotco.wordpress.com/ the site you are talking about?
What you want cannot be done here.
