Need Someone to Completely Reset Site

  • Unknown's avatar

Something has gone goofy with the menus on my website. Even when I tell it to switch to a specific (new) menu, it still shows the old one (which currently has no links in it, but I can’t even get to that menu.)
Can someone do a full reset of my site? There’s not much on it, so I’m not really losing anything.

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

  • Hi there,

We can certainly bulk delete everything for you – you may wish to download the content via Tools > Export, just for record-keeping sakes, just in case you need anything at any point in time.

Once deleted, what do you want to do next with your site? You’re starting with a clean slate at that point, and I can provide steps to get the site up and running and let you know what you need.

Lastly, it’s worth mentioning that as we’re going to be emptying the site and starting over, we offer a service where we build the site based on your requirements. It’s becoming very popular for those starting over or starting anew with their sites – mainly because it saves a whole bunch of time.

I hope that’s helpful information, and once we get the OK from you, we’ll empty the site.

Go ahead. Just a complete reset as if I had just created the site/account and have yet to do any customizations to it. I’m fine customizing it myself, it’s just that the homepage/landing page template (I think) got goofed up and I can’t access it to reset it.

    Thanks!

    Hi there!

We’ve emptied the site for you. You can go ahead and start adding fresh content to the site.

Feel free to let us know if there’s anything else you need and we’ll be happy to help.

I’m sorry but that did not work. I believe I need the menus reset. Or possibly the site completely reset, as if I had never done anything at all. No pages, no “install” of any (free) themes, etc. The homepage still does not show the menu along the upper right part of the page (and there’s still a menu configured in the settings, so it should show up.)

  • Got it. When there aren’t any pages, the site won’t show a menu. Can you try publishing a few pages — even test pages or a simple “about” that would typically come with demo content? Then you can either add a page-list menu or add links individually.
