  I have a custom design about to expire. I seem to have the same issue others have had, like this one:

  We receive multiple notices of impending upgrade expiration. We also have the option of enabling auto renewal.

  You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account and associated email address that registered the blog and purchased the upgrade for it, to access the blog’s dashboard and navigate to > Store > My Upgrades and renew any upgrades.

  Note that for username accounts registered after September 1st, 2014 a custom design upgrade is included in the Premium and Business Plan upgrades and cannot be purchased separately.

  Note that each upgrade bundle applies to a single blog only and is for a single year only when it is due to be renewed.

  My account was registered before Sept 1, 2014 though.

  If I purchase one of the bundles anyways, will it renew my custom design and domain name?

  Yes and this applies then:

  The bottom line here is that because you purchased your custom design upgrade for the blog under a username account registered prior to September 1st, 2014 all you need to do id use the instructions I provided to renew that upgrade.
