need sticky post help
-
I have a sticky post under my header. I would like to have only the quote showing — in other words, get rid of the post date, posted by, posted in, comments, etc — and have just the quote there. Is there any way? I have css edit rights.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Okay, I tried the suggestions from the post: Remove Date/Time/Author. It’s not working for me.
I copies and pasted this, as is, into the CSS Stylesheet Editor:
.entry-meta {
display:none;
}It didn’t work.
I also tried copy/pasting this into the editor:
.entry-utility {
display:none;
}When I previewed these changes to the stylesheet, nothing changed.

I don’t know exactly the numbers, but you could either insert your quote or hide the date/time/author using a div and style with position fixed.
<div style="position:fixed;top:NUMBER;left:NUMBER;background:#fff; width:NUMBER;height:NUMBER;z-index:MAYBE???;"></div>sort of psuedo CSS

I’m sorry, I don’t know what you mean. What numbers are you referring to? Can you tell me a bit more? I don’t know a lot about css.

Nor do I!
<div style="position:fixed;top:400px;left:175px;background:#fff;z-index:10;">“Existence, nothing but existence, is the only temple. Nothing but life is the only God.” ~ OSHO</div>I don’t know if you need the z-index or not; you can adjust the numbers; you can style the text…

Sorry, got my position fixed and position absolute mixed up:
<div style="position:absolute;top:400px;left:175px;background:#fff;z-index:10;">“Existence, nothing but existence, is the only temple. Nothing but life is the only God.” ~ OSHO</div> -
It worked! I had to change left position a bit, but that’s all. It worked! Thank you so much! Now tell me just one more thing, and I’ll be outa here. How to make the text just a bit larger and in bold?
Again, thank you.

Never mind. I’ve got it. But I’ll tell you one thing I think you should know. The Preview function in the Stylesheet Editor is not working for me. I’ve discovered that if I go ahead and save the changes, they will take effect, but the changes do NOT show in the Preview window. In other words, the css changes that do not show in the preview window DO show after they are saved. I’m not real happy with that situation. I could make a real mess if I’m wrong on something.

Ah! Glad it worked.
As for the CSS preview issue, that does sound like a bug. Unfortunately staff is away until 16 Aug, but I’ll modlook this thread so we can hope that one of them will see it when they stop by here.

If the CSS changes you make are not showing up when previewing the problem is most likely that your browser has cached the old CSS file and is using it. If you reload the preview window while holding down the SHIFT key it should force the browser to read the new CSS file.

Thank you, tfardella. I’ll try that next time I make some changes. Appreciate your help.
